Kacey Musgraves is a name to watch both musically and on the red carpet as a style icon. In a skin coloured Armarni Privee dress, she swept her straight hair to a side and twisted it into a shabby chignon. This is a great style to try at home as it doesn’t have to be too neat – just twist your hair around and secure with grips and pins. A little Fabulous Finish Hairspray is the perfect product to keep your hair in place all night long.
Lots of ponytails walked down the red carpet. Skylar Grey and Katie Peterson went for the straight pony but Taylor added soft waves to hers. The one thing they all had in common was they were all ultra-long and they all hid the hair elastic holding the ponytail by wrapping a section of hair around. Once you have your ponytail secured, take a small section wrap around before securing with a fine pin or grip. I like to plait the section I am wrapping around to add a little more texture to this classic go anywhere style. Get Gorgeous Flirty Fix Texture Polish is the only product I would reach for to define the ponytail – it adds texture, shine and most importantly, keeps it swinging!
Katy Perry’s extra-large bun high on her crown was super smooth and shiny. This is not a style for everyone, but she got the balance right with a simple coloured sheer dress with full ‘music note’ skirt. You can make this look work for you by using a bun ring (donut) around a pony tail and wrapping your hair around it as smoothly as possible. Hide any loose ends by coiling a twisted or plaited hairpiece around the bun ring and securing with grips and pins. Finally, protect your style and eliminate any flyaways and add red carpet shine by spraying with Defrizz-ilicious Bedazzled Anti-Humidity Shine Spray.
Rita Ora’s vintage waves are one of the hottest looks this season. Just remember to loosen off the front sections to soften the look, frame the face and bring it bang up to date. Miranda Lambert also went for a similar look but because her hair is longer, she left the waves more defined. Get the look by wrapping small sections of hair around the barrel of a Magic Wand, hold for a few seconds and then release. Immediately coil the curl back onto itself and secure with a pin curl clip. Let the curls cool completely before you take the clips out and then dress your style out using a Oh So Glam Session Styling Brush . Rub some MiracOILicious Argan Oil through your fingers and then comb through your hair to help define and add shine without overloading.
Colbie Calliat wore a bright red dress with a high neck so her hair had to be swept up to show the intricate detailing. Her hair looked amazing plaited up the back of her head and twisted into a high top knot. As with the majority of put ups on the red carpet, small ends poking out from knot added texture and softness to the style. It’s difficult to style the back of your hair so you could make this style simpler by twisting your hair into a top knot or leaving the back smoother. As you pull your hair back and up into the top knot, keep the hairline neat and sleek by spraying with Get Gorgeous Work it Girl Shine Protect and Control Spray and spray over your finished style to hold it in place and add a natural shine.
