MARK HILL X LONDON FASHION WEEK

Written by: holly 10th March 2016

Mark Hill at London Fashion WeekEvery February and September brings the world’s most coveted event in the Fashion industry, and as always the Mark Hill squad were on the guest list!

Invited to some of the most exclusive shows and events at London Fashion Week, we got to check out next season’s trends first hand and rub shoulders with some of fashion’s most elite, including Sandra Hagelstam of 5 Inch and Up and fellow bloggers Susie Bubble and Chiara of The Blonde Salad! Running between shows and The Apartment (which you can read all about in our previous post), it was a hectic week – but who wouldn’t love a week full of glamour, amazing clothes and hanging out with the A list?

Mark Hill London Fashion Week

To kick off our show schedule, we started with the J. JS Lee show at London Fashion Week’s new home for a second season – Brewer Street car park. Beautiful, tailored pieces paraded down the catwalk while we spied show-goers such as former Made in Chelsea star Hugo (remember him?!) and Victoria of In The Frow. The collection was an amazing contrast of masculinity vs femininity paired with Victorian details, and we were crushing on the bright, daring colours for AW!

The following day saw our fave show of the season, Markus Lupfer. The presentation was held in the grandest show space we’ve ever seen at Horse Guards Avenue – fancy, huh?! Waltzing through the doors up to the refreshments area, we re-fuelled on much needed green smoothies before checking out the collection in the presentation room, where Markus himself greeted press and celebs. The collection was a gorgeous mismatch of pretty floral appliques clashed with disco inspiration and amazing glitter make-up, with messy half-done ponytails finishing the look. The beauty looks made for serious Saturday night inspo.

Next on our radar was the Georgia Hardinge show. Since her collaboration with River Island (which was worn by our girl crush, Beyonce!) we’ve been in love with her sculptural designs and pleated mini dresses. This season, it was all about electric blues and fuchsias, with holographic touches hidden here and there for a casual yet super chic look!

Mark Hill street style

Finally, it wouldn’t be Fashion Week without a spot of street style snapping, and this years offering was as colourful as ever (one Brewer Street attendee was even spotted wearing our fave colours – pink and orange of course!) We were style crushing hard on bloggers Joanne of Petite Side of Style and Camila Carril. Joanne rocked this super fluffy pink jacket paired with Perspex heeled PVC boots, and Camila Carril was #StyleGoals in this blue and camel co-ord, finished with embellished Dior accessories.

After an amazing season, it’s now time to refuel and impatiently anticipate the arrival of the AW16 collections that we’ve been obsessing over ever since. We’re sad that it’s over, but we’ll see you next time Brewer Street!
