Coachella will be kicking off the long awaited festival season this month, and we can’t wait to see some serious style inspo from some of our fave celebs (Kylie Jenner, we’re looking at you girl!) so to get us in the mood, we’ve rounded up some of the coolest festival hair trends for 2016 that you can try at home!
First up – the ultimate boho waves worthy of a (flower) crown! It’s the classic go-to style for the festival veteran and some chic, loose, textured waves will last the entire weekend.
For this look it’s all about the texture, which is super simple to create. Start off by shampooing as normal, and follow by gently drying with our Speed Dryer on a low setting until completely dry. Next, take our Interchangeable Wand with the largest barrel attached and have a spritz of our Styling Heat Protection Spray. Loosely curl large sections of your hair, holding in place for a few seconds each time. Once your locks are all waved, it’s time to add texture. Simply spray sections of your hair with our Freeze Hold Hairspray, and gently rub between your palms to separate your waves and to keep them in place all weekend long.
BOXER BABE BRAIDS:
To create the perfect Day 2 style, shake up your waves with boxer braids. Get the look by sectioning out the top of your hair – feel for your temples and run your fingers towards the back of your crown, keeping the rest of your hair pulled back out of the way. Part the section you have taken down the middle from the front to the crown. Braid both top sections after parting, keeping your braids neat and tight. When you reach your crown, secure with a clear band.
Once both sides are braided finish with a spritz of our Textured Wave Spray giving small sections a twist – once complete you’re good to go back to the main stage and party all day long!
BRING ON THE BRAIDS:
For the girls too busy having a good time to worry about her locks, a full braided look is the perfect style. It’s not as tough as it looks, and if you can plait – you can braid! For full boxer braids, alternate the ‘Boxer Babe Waves’ including the full length of your hair past the crown. If you’re looking for something a little softer, opt for fishtail braids a la Selena Gomez or a chunky, messy plait like PLL bae Shay Mitchell!
